Not All Writing Needs a Message
Not all writing needs a message to be good, does it? Aren’t we all just looking for a reflection of ourselves, whether it’s in a writing, a song, a movie, or a Facebook quiz? Simply sharing the human experience provides a reflection, as we’re all part of this human race. The struggles of 4,000 years ago mirror our own struggles today. There are many shades and variances in each individual’s journey, but the basic archetypal nature of the human/divine experience remains. Therefore, my writing doesn’t need a message, per say, only my honesty, because in my honesty I’ll reflect my own unique variation of this dream we’re all in together. And while seeking and naming clarity through writing for myself, the reader may take away some modicum of clarity for themselves, thereby making the writing worthwhile.

Amanda, I appreciate and very much and like what you wrote so well.
ReplyDeleteWriting for me has been important in the process of finding myself, knowing myself and offering myself to those who might see their own journey reflected in mine.
Keep up the writing and sharing with us! Julie
